KLK has the knowledge and the appropriate experience, guaranteed by more than 30 years of market presence, to design and manufacture all kind of electrical resistors.

The resistors are intercalated in the electric circuits to modify and control working conditions of generators, motors and another receivers. Its function appears as a form of caloric energy producing an increase of temperature in them and in the surrounding air, affecting not only the components but other instruments placed nearby.

Three aspects must be carefully considered to make sure that the increase in temperature originated by free energy, does not damage the components of the resistors, mainly insulants or other instruments placed nearby. These three aspects are:

• the mass of resistor elements
• the constructive shape of it and
• the location of the resistor.

The maximum allowed increase of temperature of the resistor elements, for working conditions, is regulated by different standards: NEMA, VDE, IEEE, particular specifications.

To obtain and adequate volume of the resistor, maintaining the temperature increases, given the standard, KLK studies for each case the amount of resistors elements, the adequate shape of the elements, their connection, and the election of the insulanting materials.

To maintain the values of increase of temperature within the limits it is very important thet the resistors are installed in premises which allow the renovation of hot air around the resistors, or duly indicate the limits of ventilation which they will be under, so that the manufacturer will bear it in mind.
